Nakamura: SNG Coach

Rob "Nakamura" was introduced to poker when he was invited to a home game while studying in the UK. He joined Party Poker and deposited $50, where he played cash games well beyond his bankroll. After going bust a few times a friend suggested playing SNG games and he has never looked back.

Rob found he had a natural affinity for SNG games, particularly small stakes games on Full Tilt and Poker Stars. Around about this time he found the FTR forums, which helped his game immensely particularly with regards to ICM. He slowly increased his bankroll, but used most of his poker winnings to pay for rent and bills while studying. In 2008 he switched to playing predominately Double or Nothing games, playing thousands of $10.40 and $20.80 games on Poker Stars.

In 2011 Rob finally decided to go professional and $16 STT turbo games are his current game of choice. He currently 18-20 tables $16 games where his dedication and commitment has been rewarded by Sharkscope leaderboard success in the $5-15 STT turbo section.

He currently lives in Cape Town, South Africa and is a trained ecologist. Outside of poker Rob's interests include squash, the outdoors, hiking, video games and riding his superbike. He considers himself a student of the game and is often reading articles on poker strategy. The experience Rob has gained at the tables gives him an unique ability to progress both your DON and SNG game. He looks forward to sharing his strategies with you.
